Garlic restaurant "Balthasar" - the first Estonian garlic restaurant was opened in 1999, in a medieval building of the Town-Hall Apothecary and is situated in the very heart of Tallinn`s Old Town - the Town-Hall Square. A magnificent view opens from the restaurant`s windows on the Town-Hall Square.
This restaurant is famous mostly for its open kitchen of Lubeck, situated on the first floor of the restaurant, where delicacies roast on crackling coals, everyone can watch the process of food getting ready and be sure that this is really a matter of fresh and appetizing dish.
The Maiasmokk restaurant is located in the heart of Tallinn`s old city, near the picturesque Town Hall Square. Beautiful historic building,known for its excellent pastries and marzipan since 1864, now houses an elegant Estonian-style restaurant.
The name of this restaurant comes from the name of one of it's owners. In 16th century house belonged to Hans Pepersack, whose family name simply means pepper sack. In that time noblemen used to call the burgers mockingly as follows: the grocers were "pepper sacks" and the craftsmen were towels.
