THE TALLINN CITY THEATRE

Tallinn City Theatre, founded in 1965, is a repertoire
theatre, situated in the heart of Tallinn. The theatrical season lasts
from August to June. Currently the Tallinn City Theatre’s resident company
includes 2 directors, 2 designers and 21 actors. Tallinn City Theatre
is famous for it's high artistic level as well as its unique medieval
building, which houses seven different performance spaces and a large
open-air stage for summer productions.
Tallinn City Theatre’s repertoire has been well approved
by both the audience and the critics. It contains world classics as
well as modern drama. Attention is dedicated also to the new Estonian
drama - Jaan Tatte works at the Tallinn City Theatre as an actor, but
he is also one of the best Estonian playwrights. His most popular play
“Crossing With The Main Road”, directed here by the author himself,
has already been translated into English, German, Latvian, Finnish,
and Russian and is currently being played in several theatres in Estonia,
Germany and Latvia. Tallinn City Theatre’s repertoire also contains
his latest play “The Bridge”.
